Wow. Seldom do I realize just how young the U.S. is on the world stage; my trip to Changdeokgung Palace was a sobering reminder of the world's rich, ancient history.
The long trip to Seoul was well worth it, as we strolled into the palace of kings. It's strange to think of these grand buildings and walkways as housing the nobles of a distant past. While I was unable to visit, the palace is home to the secret garden. It's made special by its exclusivity, as they only allow one person in the garden at a time. I can Imagine walking in the secret garden would really feel like walking back in time.
A nice stretch of the legs later, we were back on the road, this time to a grand tower for an all you can eat buffet. Boy was it worth it. Pizzas, pastas, sushi, meats, soups. All of it mouthwatering and a meal in their own right. In typical fashion, me and soobin loaded up two plates to start. Don't worry, we didn't skimp on the dessert.
Showing up in period clothing will net you free entry
Big thanks to Soobin's sister for taking the photo
And then, we feast...
