Hey Dad, I sent more money home, but they must be having a problem at the post office again. Darn. Well I guess you'll have to settle for my good intentions once again. (I'll get the next one).
I must have inherited your sense of humor, because I can't even get through a sentence without trying to break the tension with a well placed mmmh strawberries joke. But I think that's what I admire about you the most; no matter how grim or daunting a situation, you're always able to inject a sense of unbridled optimism.
A good amount of life is full of responsibility, and it's not hard to find yourself waiting precariously for the hard parts to be over. When I see the way you react to the curveballs life throws you, it reminds me that things don't have to be daunting. No one is going to kill ya and eat ya. If you can find the humor in the hard parts, and enjoy them with the people you love, then you don't have to wait for life to be over to start enjoying it.
Let me tell ya, you've got some big shoes to fill, but for now I'm just happy you're in them. Because heck, they're stinky. I love you dad! Happy Father's day!
